- I live in Florida, transplanted from Michigan. Most of my road trips take me along the Dixie Highway.
Where is the Dixie Highway?
The Dixie Highway was a series of interconnected roads that linked Florida to the Great Lakes region in the early 20th century. Interstate 75 is the highway that links Florida to Detroit today. Route 41 runs from Michigan to Miami. Route 41 is called "Old Dixie Highway" in Georgia, and the "Tamiami Trail" in Florida.

I love to go shelling myself. I am planning a trip soon and want to know if Fort Desota is a great place to do this. Normally I go to Clearwater, but looking for a little change this time.
